Relay for Life attracts RC students and community members last Friday

Students and staff walked through Friday night and into Saturday morning at Relay for Life in Ripon High School.

The annual event helps raise funds for the American Cancer Society (ACS), which funds research projects to find medical procedures and a potential cure for cancer.

Students welcome coming addition of 'Little Caesars'

Ripon will have a new place to get pizza in a few short weeks.

Waupaca businessman Chris Korth leased space in the new strip mall next to Ace Hardware on West Fond du Lac Street and plans to open a Little Caesars franchise in mid June.

"We're really excited about coming to Ripon," says Korth, who already owns a Little Caesars in his hometown.

Student Senate Rewind: Senate considers four budgets, axes mouse pads

All student organization budgets were passed for a second and final time at last week's Student Senate meeting.

Organizations that were reviewed during the meeting include Cinemaniacs, Student Senate, SEA, Chefs Anonymous and Pre-Law Society.

Cinemaniacs will experience a budget decrease from $500 to $150 in their miscellaneous fund, after a proposal to eliminate the miscellaneous costs altogether failed.

Streets to be removed this summer

When Ripon College students return to school in the fall, there will be one very noticeable change in the heart of campus.

Seward and Elm Streets are set to be removed July 1 in the section from Bartlett Hall on Woodside Street to the S.N. Pickard Commons on Congress Street this summer.

Before Springfest even gets started, there will be a lot of action in Ripon this Saturday.

The 4th annual Ripon College/Ripon Community Run-Walk Fair will incorporate plenty of student and community involvement April 26 starting at 8 a.m. at Storzer.

While some students will be focused on volunteering at the event along with Kiwanis, others will actually be running in the event.

Rain boots, galoshes, Wellies or mukaluks: no matter what they are called, rain boots have been keeping our feet dry for centuries. However, rain boots have just recently made their debut in the fashion world.

For the last two years, fraternity rivals Theta Chi and Sigma Chi have lived down the hall from each other in Brockway Hall, waiting to take their aggression out on each other until the end of the school year.

This Sunday, Upper Sadoff will play the role of gridiron, as members of Theta Chi and Sigma Chi square off for a good old game of football.

Softball team fares well in long week, winning seven

The Ripon softball team improved their record to 12-10 overall and 3-1 in the MWC after playing nine games last week.

On April 14, the softball team got the chance to warm up for their conference opponents when they went up against the south division in an abbreviated MWC Tournament.

Breakfast delivered April 29

9 p.m. to 11 p.m. April 29. The meal of three pancakes, a pair of sausage links, a banana or orange juice and a juice or milk will cost $4, with proceeds going to the March of Dimes. The event is sponsored by the Office of Community Engagement.

Women's club seeks RC group

ADPi hosts softball tourney

Alpha Delta Pi will host a softball tournament this Friday, April 25 to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charity. Teams can sign up in the commons until Friday. Cost per participant is $15, and includes a T-shirt. Those who cannot play, but would still like a T-shirt may purchase one for $10.

FBLA wins at first contest

The newly formed FBLA Phi Beta Lambda club performed at the state competition last weekend with flying colors. Competing against larger state schools including UW-Madison, UW-Whitewater, UW-Oshkosh and UW-Green Bay, the Ripon chapter was able to place first in each of the two events in which they participated.
