In words, music and pictures, composer Janika Vandervelde and local
naturalist Tom Eddy describe the natural beauty of Mitchell's Glen and how
it inspired the composition of Vandervelde's new string quartet,
Monapacataca.
Offered by the Green Lake Festival of Music, Vandervelde and Eddy's free lecture will be held at Caestecker Public Library, Green Lake, Wisconsin, on Saturday, July 26, at 10 a.m. No tickets are necessary.
Monapacataca was commissioned by the Festival and will have its world premiere, performed by the Enso String Quartet, July 15, at Ripon College's Rodman Center. Wisconsin Public Radio will be on hand to broadcast the concert live. A celebrity new music panel will discuss the genre before dinner that afternoon.
