Pianist Andreas Klein will perform this Friday as a part of the Chamber Music at Ripon Series.

A native of Germany and a graduate of the Julliard School, Klein has acheived international recognition as an artist and performer. The New York Times referred to him as "a fascinating artist with all the indispensable qualities: temperament, taste, touch and tone- the four T's of pianism."

Both a soloist and recitalist, Klein has performed at renowned American concert halls including the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C.'s Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall in New York. He's also performed at London's prestigious Wigmore Hall and Berlin's Philharmonic Hall. Beyond his solo career, Klein has toured with some of the world's best orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic and the Houston Symphonies.

In addition to his busy touring schedule, the pianist also gives frequent live broadcasts throughout the country. He's often heard on National Public Radio's "Performance Today." Klein worked with PBS to create the "Intermezzo with Andreas Klein" series, designed to expose television audiences to classical music.

Klein's early career began while studying under legendary pianists Claudio Arrau and Nikita Magaloff. He's recorded, edited and produced numerous albums. His past discs include "Dancing Through Time" and "Beethoven Sonatas 101 and 109 and the Berg Sonatas"- both received exceptional reviews.

Klein's performance is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Demmer Recital Hall. For information on the music series or ticket requests, please call 920-748-8791.
