RC student wins Miss Fondy

First Year Melinda McNett was crowned Miss Fond du Lac 2006 Saturday. As winner, McNett received an assortment of prizes, including scholarship money. The pageant was scored based on an interview session as well as talent, evening gown, and swimsuit competitions. McNett's platform is preventing premature birth, and for her talent she sang a song from the Disney movie "Mulan." Ripon sophomore Rachael Kramer also competed and was voted Miss Congeniality and won the non-finalist interview award.

I met Melinda over the summer, and was astounded by her friendly attitude and wonderful charisma. In the past several months I've been able to get to know her quite well and I'm so pleased she won Miss Fond du Lac 2006! Way to go Mel!
