Senators approved two one-funds, a new student organization and revisions to their own constitution during the past two sessions.

One-fund requests were brought forth by the Pre-Law Society of Ripon and the Ripon Outdoor Club (ROC).

At the Feb. 8 meeting, the Pre-Law Society requested $511 to fund the food costs associated with its upcoming Law Day. The event is scheduled for April 1.

The request was approved 17 to zero, with three abstentions.

The following week, Senators approved an $88 request by ROC to take students to the Ice Age Trail near the Dells of the Eau Claire River, a trip scheduled for Feb. 18.

Senators approved this request unanimously.

The Feb. 8 meeting provided the first approval of the constitution for a new student organization, the Ripon College St. Jude Up 'til Dawn.

The initial approval passed with a 17 to one vote, with one abstention.

The following week, Senators passed the constitution's second approval, thus making the Ripon College St. Jude Up 'til Dawn an official, Senate-recognized student organization.

Also receiving secondary approval at last week's session were proposed changes to Senate's constitution. Changes were passed unanimously at both meetings.

The changes affect the definition of the Treasurer and Senate's operating rules.

Under the approved changes, the Treasurer of Student Senate "shall be responsible for the accounting of Student Senate-owned equipment allotted to student organizations."

In regards to Senate's operating rules, the constitutional revision recognizes the operating rules as having the "same force as the Student Senate Constitution."

The one-fund, as reported by Treasurer sophomore Matt Bush at the Feb. 15 meeting is at $34,985.96.

Tonight's meeting takes place in the Senate Chambers at 6:30 p.m. Professor of Psychology Robert Young will present a proposed honor code for the college.

As a reminder, election packets are due Friday, with elections beginning March 6.

Packet information to sit on next year's committees will be available March 1.
